FAQ

Will counselling help me?

Yes counselling can help you meet your therapeutic goals.  A recent study from the International Centre for Clinical Excellence showed that 80% of those who received counselling ended up better off than those who had no support.  My clients frequently report many benefits including that their anxiety reduces, their depression eases, they feel more confident and their relationships improve.

Do I need a referral?

No there’s no need for a referral.

How does counselling work practically?

We will meet for an initial assessment where we will discuss why you have come for counselling and what you want to get out of it.  If we seem to be a good fit for each other we would agree to meet for six sessions.  We would then meet weekly at a regular time in one of my consulting rooms in London. After six sessions we would review our work to ensure that we are making progress towards your goals.

How much does it cost?

My rates are £ 65 for a 50 minute session.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on many factors such as the severity of your presenting issue and what your goals are.  I would expect you to feel improvements week by week and certainly after six sessions I’d expect you to feel some benefit.  For some people six sessions are enough, for some it’s twenty and other people prefer to work longer term.  Generally to address deeper issues and produce significant, enduring change, longer term counselling is recommended.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes I offer online counselling using a simple to use programme called Zoom.

Will what I say remain confidential?

Yes I’m registered with the BACP which means I follow the BACP code of ethics.  This means that everything shared in the room will remain confidential.  The only exceptions to this are if I believe you might be a threat to yourself or another I would be legally obliged to seek further support.  Additionally I receive monthly supervision and discuss my client work there.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel within 48 hours of your session you will asked to pay the full price.
